Jerry met Brenda under circumstances that are still a mystery to their sons but we are sure that their courting included dancing at Blackburn King George's Hall in some way.
Jerry & Brenda were married on 28th August 1963. An enduring family story is about the wedding notice in the Clitheroe Advertiser & Times which read 'Island Home for Couple'. No South Sea or Caribbean paradise for the newlyweds as they set up home on the Isle of Man.
Changing jobs Jerry & Brenda moved to Featherstone, Yorkshire, where Nicholas and Christopher were born. Then a brief stay in Northampton before moving back to Dad's hometown of Blackburn where Andrew was born.
The family stayed in Blackburn for just over 10 years. But Dad lived a double life for the last 2 of these after he took a new job in Ealing and commuted a high speed up and down the M1/M6 every weekend, 'killing' at least one company car in the process.
Finally, the family caught up with him when we all moved to Maidenhead in 1983.
